One day not too long ago my quiet time in prayer revealed a song in my heart that I never knew was there. Words came flooding up out of my spirit like they had been there all of my life, and yet I hardly recognized them. It was as if a secret longing in my heart had finally been unearthed. These beautiful words became a melody in my head that I haven’t been able to shake.
Lately I’ve been reading the Psalms. And thinking about David. And all of the beautiful hymns that have come from the hidden melodies that he carried within his spirit. And I wondered where would we be without these most precious words. What beautiful music would have been missing if he had never penned these most intimate reflections for others to ponder in their own hearts.
Worship comes in so many forms. Prayer. Fellowship. Reading and Devotion. But for me, I have a very dear connection to worship through music. I never feel closer to God almighty then when I am lifting my voice in praise of His holy name. Publicly. Privately. Inside my own head.
And so I share with you, my song.

I worship you, with my hands up in the air
I worship you, when my eyes are closed in prayer
All my life I give to you,
For Your glory, this I do.
I worship you.
Every tear that falls like rain, is held gently in Your hand.
Every storm I’m going through, is just part of Your great plan
When all hope seems lost to me, and I cannot understand:
I worship you, with my hands up in the air
I worship you, when my eyes are closed in prayer
All my life I give to you,
For Your glory, this I do.
I worship you.
There is a joy that’s deep inside, mere words cannot explain
Love has sprung up from a well, You are God my soul proclaims
With every breath I take, all creation shouts your name
so,
I worship you, with my hands up in the air
I worship you, when my eyes are closed in prayer
All my life I give to you,
For Your glory, this I do.
I worship you.
Abba. Father.
Holy is Your name.
Jehovah. Creator.
Powerful to save.
You are mighty. worthy. just and full of grace
I have this
longing deep inside that nothing can replace
so
I worship you, with my hands up in the air
I worship you, when my eyes are closed in prayer
All my life I give to you,
For Your glory, this I do.
I worship you.
I worship you.
